High school can be a tumultuous time in a teen’s life. There are all kinds of pressures students face on an academic and social level, so you want to be sure that the school your child attends is one that will offer stability. At Shining Light Academy, our high school students each receive a fine education with an emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and Christian values. Through our curriculum, after-school programs, and Christian fellowship, your student will learn the skills they need to succeed now, in college, and in the world.
Students from all around attend our school, including many students from High Point, North Carolina, but no matter where they come from, our students are part of an educational institution that is built on community and trust. We are different because of our tight-knit environment and family-oriented approach, and we find that it has been very successful for us. Our high school students go on to do remarkable things and be remarkable people.
At the high school level, our curriculum is modeled primarily on the Bob Jones Press curriculum because we favor its attention to critical thinking and encouragement of creativity. Our students’ academics are highly important to us, so we do not sacrifice their academic education in favor of a Christian one (a common concern for some families); rather, we synthesize the two, and we don’t forget about the importance of extracurriculars like sports and fine arts either.
