We offer summer camp for our students and other children in the community.

Summer camp provides numerous benefits that help children develop emotionally, socially, and physically. One of the most important benefits of summer camp is the potential for personal growth. At Shining Light Academy, our campers gain independence and confidence, which they can take with them as they continue to grow.

Summer Camp in Kernersville, North Carolina

Both our students and other members of our community in and around the Kernersville, North Carolina area can take part in our faith-based summer camps, which run all summer, excluding the July 4th holiday. Some of the things to know about our summer camp can be found below.

Summer Camp starts on Tuesday, May 26th and runs all summer (with the exception of July 4th) to August 7th.

Here are some other things to know about our summer camp:

  • We accept children from age 3 to 5th grade.
  • Summer Camp Hours are 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM.
  • The weekly fee includes lunches and an afternoon snack. No need to worry about packing anything.
  • Also included in the weekly fee are off-site field trips and on-site instructional shows, usually two a week!
  • We offer additional child discounts for families with multiple children.
  • Summer camp also generally includes a variety of field trips your child won’t want to miss!
  • Rates are: $160 per week, $200 registration fee (non refundable)

As mentioned, summer camp gives your child the skills needed to grow emotionally, socially, and physically. Nope! We welcome both current students and children from the surrounding communities to attend our summer camp program.

How do you group campers?

Campers are typically grouped by age so that all activities are appropriate and engaging for their developmental level. We do our best to accommodate requests for siblings or friends to be grouped together – contact us to discuss any specific request.

What will my child do while at summer camp?

We offer a range of activities designed to engage campers. A typical day might include activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor time, games, and special themed events. Campers have ample opportunities to engage in play, develop teamwork skills, and interact with peers in a positive, supervised environment.

What should my child wear to camp?

We suggest that children wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, as well as closed-toe shoes.

Is your summer camp Christian-based?

Yes, we incorporate Christian values and teachings as part of our summer camp program.

Are parents able to communicate with staff while camp is in session?

We encourage open communication and are always happy to answer questions or provide updates.
