Is a Private School Right for Your Child?

In our experience at Shining Light Academy, not every school is a suitable fit for every child or family. While some children can succeed in the public school system, others would benefit from a private school environment where they could receive more one-on-one attention from instructors. In this article, our team will go over a few things to consider when deciding whether a private school is right for your child.

Is a Private School Right for Your Child?

  • Class Size – One of the chief advantages of a private school education is smaller class sizes. Lower class sizes allow teachers to give each student more attention. This allows students to receive more help and guidance when struggling with academic content, and it allows each student to form a more personal bond with the teacher.
  • Curriculum – Another benefit of private schools is that they are not bound to the same curriculum taught in public schools. This means private schools can offer a more rigorous academic program, and it means private schools are able to teach subjects not covered in public school classrooms, such as religious education.
  • Peers and Parents – A third reason many parents choose private schools for their children has to do with the social environment at these institutions. At our school, for example, students and their families are both highly committed to academics and to their Christian faith, which creates a wonderful environment for every family involved in our program. If you want to ensure your child can build positive peer relationships with like-minded children, we encourage you to consider enrolling them in our school.
